Katrina Fifth Anniversary
Trying to Understand Hurricane Katrina and Its Aftermath | Video
When Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast five years ago, Emory history professor and former New Orleans resident Leslie Harris always knew she wanted to do something help. And, she wanted to use what she knows best, history and academia, to do just that. Harris has written a book chronicling her and her family's lives in New Orleans from 1965-2005 as she tries to explain and understand the storm and its aftermath. She also started the New Orleans Research Collaborative with other academics to help others in this same process.
