Emory University is listed among the top 25 national universities for the 20th consecutive year in U.S. News & World Report's annual "Best Colleges" rankings published Sept. 13.

Emory was listed as 20th among national universities, 19th among schools offering the “best value” to students. Emory also was cited for its economic diversity, with 19 percent of its undergraduates receiving Pell Grants. Emory's Goizueta Business School is 12th in the rankings of undergraduate business programs.

“Emory students benefit from our remarkable community that encompasses a rigorous undergraduate program, top notch graduate programs, outstanding professional schools, a world-renowned library, a superior healthcare system, distinguished affiliations including The Carter Center and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the advantage of an Atlanta location,” says Emory Provost Earl Lewis. “Our unique combination of people, place and resources defines Emory as one of the world’s leading centers of discovery and learning.”

Emory has had a banner year, engaged in a $1.6 billion campaign, the largest for a university in Georgia, garnering nearly $540 million in total research funding awards, the highest in its history, hiring 50 new faculty, and recruiting outstanding students to each of its nine undergraduate, graduate and professional schools.

In addition to U.S. News, other well-known media outlets have recognized Emory, among them: The Princeton Review (top 50 “2011 Best Value Colleges” among private universities), Forbes.com (9th among 20 religiously affiliated schools, 2010), and Bloomberg BusinessWeek (BBA program ranked 3rd, 2011).

“These and other accolades speak to the excellence in the colleges, schools and centers that are Emory, and that account collectively for the success of the entire university enterprise,” says Lewis.
