Emory Winship Cancer Institute "Celebration of Living"

WHO:

Guest Speaker:  Kris Carr: CrazySexyCancer Author, filmmaker and "Cancer Cowgirl." In 2003 31-year-old actress/photographer Kris Carr was diagnosed with a rare and incurable cancer. Weeks later she began filming her story, which was aired as a documentary on TLS. Taking a seemly tragic situation and turning it into a creative expression, Kris continues to share her inspirational story of survival with courage, strength and humor through her film, books, website and keynote addresses.

WHY:

Emory Winship's Celebration of Living, in its 16th year, is a free educational event for cancer patients and their family members and loved ones.  Educational sessions provide attendees with information on cancer therapies, nutrition, exercise, and maintaining a positive outlook.
