Donna P. Bergeson, DeKalb County resident, attorney and community leader, has accepted the volunteer role as chair of the Emory Healthcare Advisory Board.

Emory Healthcare's President and CEO John T. Fox, credits the advisory board's contribution in advancing Emory Healthcare's mission and vision, and looks forward to Bergeson's leadership. "The board is composed of volunteer business and civic leaders committed to further exposing our community to the value that Emory Healthcare brings - not just to the future of medicine in this country, but to Atlanta's economic development," says Fox.

Bergeson says, "It is important to give back to our community and find ways to improve society. There are many ways to do this, and chairing the Emory Healthcare Advisory Board is an effort that I am particularly excited about.

"Our community benefits tremendously from the exceptionally high level of care, research and new treatment modalities that can only come from an academic medical center," she says. "Medicine at Emory is transforming health and healing around the world - and right here in Georgia. Not only are Emory scientists, physicians and staff at the leading edge of medicine, they are making a positive impact on our economy."

As chair of the advisory board, Bergeson will also provide leadership, inspiration and community networking to Emory Healthcare, says Fox.
