Rob Hoover has been named associate dean of finance and administration at Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.

In his new role, Hoover will oversee the school's business affairs, finances, human resources and operations. Hoover previously served as interim associate dean of finance and administration at the nursing school.

"Rob's business experience coupled with his extensive knowledge about the School of Nursing, makes him the perfect candidate for this position," says Linda McCauley, PhD, RN, FAAN, dean and professor of the Emory School of Nursing. "I know our faculty, staff and students will benefit tremendously from his contributions to the school's business operations."

Hoover has established himself as a visionary leader since joining the School of Nursing in 2004 as the director of Admission and Student Services. After generating positive results for the Office of Admission and Student Services, he was promoted to assistant dean of Admission and Student Services, and later attained the position of associate dean of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. He has served as the associate dean for enrollment management and student services in the School of Nursing since 2008. In this position, he was responsible for admissions, financial aid, student records, student affairs and student compliance.

Prior to joining Emory, Hoover served as the director of admission at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve alongside Dean McCauley and our impressive faculty and staff in new ways," says Hoover. "Because of our unique position within Emory, the Woodruff Health Sciences Center and the Atlanta community, the School of Nursing has many opportunities to prosper as we pursue our goal to prepare engaged, socially responsible nurse leaders and scholars."

Hoover earned a master's degree and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Samford University. He is currently pursuing an Executive Doctorate in Higher Education from the University of Georgia's Institute of Higher Education.

Hoover is an active member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers.
