There is more to cancer than chemotherapy, and the Celebration of Living, hosted by the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, provides information on what's new in cancer prevention, treatment and survivorship.

The Celebration of Living will be held on June 19, 2010, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road, Atlanta, Ga., 30305. Admission is free and includes parking, a light breakfast, informational sessions on nutrition, communicating with kids about cancer, coping with depression and fatigue, exercise and general wellness. Lunch will be provided by Chick-fil-A.

Special guest will be Ryan Hamner, a four-time cancer survivor who will perform songs from his new album, Between the Lines. A recent review on artistlaunch.com said: "The Columbus, Ga., native's music is the product of a life full of professional highs and lows. Hamner left a comfortable but unfulfilling IT gig to pursue his rock n' roll dreams full time, and has crafted a wealth of heartfelt, largely acoustic pop songs. A Hodgkins lymphoma survivor, Ryan also penned the inspirational children's book, You'll Be All Right, Buddy."

Celebration of Living is free and open to the public. For more information or to register, go to www.winshipeventregistration.com or call 404-778-7777.
